Plate Heaven

I came across these Ginori plates, that look like paint colour testers and I love them. On doing some research, I came across these image of other Richard Ginori plates.... WOW.
Richard Ginori is an Italian compay, based in Florence, founded in 1735, that produces some stunning contemporary designs.... I'll be buying up big on my next visit to Florence (not sure when this will be....).

This was a display at Object & Maison in France and its AMAZING.

Metroquadro’, pictured above, are a collection of dinner plates, bowls and dessert plates that are lavishly decorated on the outside.

Latest Jim Thompson Fabrics

Today I got to see the latest Jim Thompson fabric presented by the International export manager, who's grandmother and parents both worked at Jim Thompson.

The collection moved away from the traditional silks into great weaves and prints and a couple are shown here. Because of the history, many of the prints have a Thai feel, designed in the UK but still printed there today in Bangkok.

The story behind Jim Thompson is very interesting, Thompson came from a textile manufacturing background, and after the second world war, started the Thai Silk Company in Thailand. He has house "House on the Klong" which he designed and built and its now a museum and major tourist site in Bangkok. In 1967, Thompson went for a midnight walk and was never seen again.....

Splash of colour

I'm having an internal fight with myself at the moment...RED or FUSCHIA high gloss front door. My husband was dead against the pink and was happy with the red, but I think I have talked him into the FUSCHIA......

Look foreard to posting some before and after photo's of the exterior colours. Its looking great and should be complete by the end of the week.....now that the wasp nest has been removed, but thats another story.

Easter (Part 2)

It was my other Easter on the weekend - Greek Easter and we got together and enjoyed the traditions - breaking the fast at 2.30am after Church with Tsoureki (Easter bread), Koulourakia (twisted biscuits) and cracking the hand dyed red eggs and feasting on roast lamb and all the trimmings.

Friday Flowers

These images show how a simple vase of fresh flowers can give a life to a room, whether its a splash of colour and a simple green follage and white flower, these rooms are better for it.

Baker Lifestyle

The latest Baker Lifestyle collection is very sweet - inspired by the magical gardens of the 18th century West Green House and its glorious summer season of baroque operas and music, the Opera Garden Collection celebrates this harmony of music and nature.

The designs celebrate not only the garden’s flowers, follies, even its chickens, but also charming impressions of West Green’s opera nights. The collection has an extensive colour palette, ranging from subtle earthy tones to vibrant brights.

Pop in anytime to see the collection.

Easter (part 1)

I had a great Easter weekend.

Drove down to Mum and Dad's on Sunday, bright and early and enjoyed an overnight stay. Weather was not good, windy, wet and cold, so it gave up the perfect excuse to sit inside with the fires going and relax. Some boardgames, reading, watching TV and plenty of eating. Have to do it all again next weekend for orthodox Easter....

Does it have to match ?

Who said that dining chairs need to match. Here are a couple of examples to show that this does not have to be the case. Whether its the same design, just different colours or a mixture of chairs, both can look amazing.

GASP Tasmania

How great is the use of colour at GASP in Tasmania - GASP is the Glenorchy Art and Sculture Park, set on approximately 9 hectares of public land on the shores of Elwick Bay. GASP! aims to boldly position itself as a place for contemporary site‐specific outdoor arts.

The bridge is colourful and vibrant and sits in this stunning landscape. It was created by Room 11 Architects and was included in this years Dulux Colour Awards, winning the commercial exterior category.

Its on my list of places to visit when I get a chance to go to Tassie.
