Trinket Box

I picked up this lovely little trinket box on ebay of about $5 - love the bamboo design and what a bargain.

Pictured with Butterfly artwork on vintage book from Etsy by Faux Kiss which I love and a gorgeous camillia from a lovely old gentleman that lives around the corner from my studio and brings me flowers, lemons and ice-creams in summer. Thanks Les.....

Blossom

I came across this image on a lovely blog called "Poppy and Leo" created by Caroline in Boston. The photo is taken by Taylor Olcott.

What a beautiful image.....the contrast between the magenta blossom and the red of the barn. I love it.

I was in Adelaide for the weekend, as I have one sister living there and its was my nephew's first birthday. Boy has that year flown.....

The last couple of times we have been over, we have stayed at the Soho Hotel, its a great little boutique hotel with simple rooms and gorgeous Missoni fabrics. Here are a couple of images of the hotel's interior.

Ann Grafton

I had the honour of attending a presentation of the new GP&J Baker collections, including, Baker, Threads, Baker Lifestyle and Mulberry brands yesterday. The collections were presented by Ann Grafton, who is the Managing Director and Head of Design at GP&J Baker UK. Ann is a textile designer with over 20 year experience, who before joining Baker (about 6 years ago)was the creative director of Colefax & Fowler.

Ann Grafton (middle) with Nerida from Elliott Clarke on the right.

Design Studio mood boards

Amazing fabric presentation blankets

Mulberry's iconic design, Flying Ducks

Ann provided some great insights into the stories behind the fabric designs and told us how she developed the Threads brand, creating 350 fabrics over a two year period, to fill a gap in the market for gorgeous textures and decorative designs, in a more comptemporary design and palette, compared to the rest of the Baker range.

Thanks to Nerida and the team at Elliott Clarke for a great inspirational afternoon with Ann.

Daylesford for the day

On the weekend I decided to head off to Daylesford for the day. It was a fine day (cold but no rain) and it turned out to be the Daylesford Craft Weekend, to the joy of my husband.

After a great lunch at Koukla, comprising of a wood fired pizza to start and pork belly with red cabbage and hazelnut salad, we explored the town and checked out the Craft and Farmers Market.

(Interior of Koukla)

I also visited Lark, a gorgeous store that supports hand-made products and not-for-profit groups. They were having a garage sale and I picked up a couple of items.

Coffee and cake to finish and provide the stamina for the drive back to Melbourne.
