Working on

Here is a sneak peak at a project I'm working on.

A Grandmothers chair in need of a makeover, will take pride of place in my clients master bedroom once we have finalised the scheme - working on custom bedding and lampshades to work with the scheme and recovering the chair.

Will keep you posted on the progress.

New Collection - Manuel Canovas

The new fabric collections are coming thick and fast at the moment and this morning I saw the new Manuel Canovas Collections. Amazing embroideries and weaves and some great wallpapers as well......below are some images of the collection

The wide stripe on the ottoman below is stunning, great colour combinations and thick and textured. There is a cutting on rouge and chocolate in the photo above, which is a combination I just love.
Gorgeous wallpapers, many complementing the fabric designs or using older print designs as the inspiration.
This design is my favourite. Its had to see the detail but the leaves are machine embroidered and the tulip flowers are hand embroidered...stunning.

Can's wait to use them......

Osborne & Little

For as long as I can remember, Osborne and Little have run an amazing advertising campaign. The advertising of their fabrics has been very creative and lots of fun. Below are some examples of the advertisements.

Since stating the campaign in the 60's, the Osborne & Little ads have become legendary and many people have asked who was behind these unique concepts. It was a partnership between Peter Osborne's wife, Felicity and photographer Charles Settrington, who together, brimmed with ideas, never compromised to achieve authenticity.

A client recently used these birdcage wall stickers in her sons room, so I thought I would post some images of decorative birdcages used in interior settings, both traditional and modern interiors.

Ione - New Sanderson Collection

I had the new Sanderson collection presented to me today designed by Maggie Levien. 'Ione' is a collection of fabrics and wallpapers in subtle colours, using florals as inspiration. Below are some images of the collection.

Ione Prints
Taking inspiration from classic botanical archives, the ‘Ione’ collection combines finely drawn artwork with confident composition. Focusing on the detail of each motif and infusing them with new, exciting colours, designer Maggie Levien has created a collection reflective of the season’s interior trends; each unique design highlights Maggie's distinctive approach to stylisation, scale and colour. This collection is comprised of five fabrics printed on linen / cotton and silk, plus one 100% silk stripe. All are designed to work well in both classic homes and contemporary living spaces.

Ione Papers
To complement designer Maggie Levien’s ‘Ione’ prints, the wallpaper collection of the same name subtly plays with the same design motifs featuring strong silhouettes and accent details in metallic, opaque and pearlised inks, making them ideal both as partners for the corresponding fabrics or as stand-alone designs.

The Art of Silhoettes

Flicking through a magazine and saw this book, The Art of Silhouettes by Emma Rutherford. Emma Rutherford is an art historian who has specialized in silhouettes and portrait miniatures for fifteen years and the book is a fascinating history of the art form and the social history hidden behind its shadows.

This book made me think of a trip to France a couple of years ago with my nieces, as they had their silhouettes created, in Montmartre, as you do.....

Here are some vintage silhouettes, used in interiors:
