Sibella Court - Mr Wong

Here are a couple of images of the interior of new Sydney yum-cha restaurant, Mr Wong. The interiors evoke 1930s Shanghai - with period-style furniture, jazzy music and the gorgeous styling details including calligraphy, Chinese paintings, Asian furnishings and clusters of blue-and-white china on the walls, designed in part, by Sibella Court. Its a must see on my next visit to Sydney.

On the topic of Sibella, her next book called Bowerbird is due for release next month and if its anything like her other books, it will find its way into my bookshelves.

La Belle Miette

I was in the city on Saturday and came across a lovely little shop selling delicous French Macarons and the chocolate was popular with my nieces. The current menu includes: 72% Cocoa Single Origin Chocolate (Venezuela),Caramel a la Fleur de Sel,Cherry Blossom & Sake,Ginger & Macadamia,Lemon,Olive Oil & Vanilla,Pink Grapefruit,Pistachio, Raspberry Ganache,Rose,Strawberry & Vanilla,Violet & Blueberry and Wasabi..... My mouth is watering just thinking about them....

They have beautiful gift boxes and the shop if lovely. Next time you are in Hardware Lane in the city...treat yourself.

Fauchon Paris

I walked past a french patisserie this morning and thought about one of my favourite shops in Paris. Fauchon, in the Madeleine district of Paris. They are so many exquisite cakes, macaroons that melt in your mouth, eclairs that are works of art and gorgeous madeleines, that have to be tasted to believe, all wrapped up in pink boxes.....its a must on your next trip to Paris
