It was one of my nieces 15th birthday last night and several weeks ago, she started talking about these amazing rainbow cakes she saw on tumblr. Funnily I had just seen Anna Spiro's post
here with detailed making instructions
here so I thought I would attemp the cake as a surprise.




Basic recipe is easy, its just time consuming as I baked in batches (only 4 cake tins) and kept my fingers crossed.

The cake was a great success and all my nieces loved it..... I got a round of applause for the cake. My only worry is that I may have started something.....
