I was looking through some old "World of Interiors" magazines and came across this wonderful editorial on wallpaper. It hightlights wallpaper designs by showing them as paper dolls and paperdoll clothing and I think its very creative. Hope you like it......

Trimmings

I love to use trimmings, whether its the finishing touch on cushions or ornamentation on curtains or blinds....... small amounts of trim can just finish off the project, without having to blow the budget.

Armchairs

Here are some images of gorgeous decorative armchairs, to inspire..... Remember, we should not be afraid to use pattern whether its a contemporary chair or more traditional in style.

This is an armchair I did for a great client, earlier this year. This chair was a right off, broken legs, spring sticking out of the seat and was completely rebuilt and recovered.

Blue and White

There is something timeless with a blue and white interior. Blue and white is a great color combination to decorate with, because most shades of blue look good with other shades of blue. It is a crisp, fresh combination - from the deepest indigo blue to the palest sky blue, there is a shade of blue to suit every room and every mood......

Window Displays

Just thinking about my next window display and thought I would share a couple of old ones with you.

Rich and exotic, Manual Canovas La Ronde drop with lacquared vintage asian table.

Beautiful Nina Campbell Birdcage wall wallpaper, still one of my favorites, Mokum Fushion sheer drapes and french chair upholstered in O&L Stanza.

Zoffany produced these amazing wall panels. Seen hear with cushion panels in the yellow colourway and a vibrant Liberty silk paisley.

Finally another Manual Canovas print, fresh and pretty, Celadon with a cute french desk and beautiful spring flowers to finish.

Arte Wallcoverings

These Arte wallcoverings are stunning. The collection is called "Metal and Glass" and the image styling is reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland. The Metal x Glass collection, has dreamy damasks and stripes are painted with ultra-fine glass beads on an oxidised foil. The effect is luminous, reminiscent of antique mercury glass and baroque ornamentation. Stunning....need to use these in my next powder room......

Books by Colour

While on the colour them, I thought I would share a few images of books arranged by colour. I love these images but haven't the time to do this at home yet... if you have any spare time!

Threads of Colour

Colours of Rajasthan - one cannot help but be inspired by these images. Joyful, vivacious, uplifting colour. I'm not sugggesting we need our whole interiors this colourful but small hints of colour in the home, can give us the same feeling and can be a feast for the senses.





The meaning of colour:
RED - action, confidence, courage, vitality
YELLOW - wisdom, joy, happiness, intellectual energy
GREEN - life, nature, fertility, well being
BLUE - youth, spirituality, truth, peace
WHITE - Purity, Cleanliness
BLACK - Death, earth, stability

Romo Collection

Had the chance to view the new Romo collection yesterday and its great. Softer palette to some of their more recent collections. Inspired by hints of the Orient, it includes prints, silks and weaves depicting oriental elements such as bamboo, lanterns and stylised fans.

Fauchon Paris

I walked past a french patisserie this morning and thought about one of my favourite shops in Paris. Fauchon, in the Madeleine district of Paris. They are so many exquisite cakes, macaroons that melt in your mouth, eclairs that are works of art and gorgeous madeleines, that have to be tasted to believe, all wrapped up in pink boxes.....its a must on your next trip to Paris

Collages

I came across these collages of wood art, by Dolan Geiman, while looking at the Esty website. Esty is like Ebay but its all handmade, art and craft items, loving made by someone. If you have a chance, check out the website and spend some time looking at the great handmade items from all over the world availabe on Etsy.

Bamboo Chairs

Loving these bamboo chairs....they seem to be cropping up in a number of images in the latest magazines. Classic and look great in any colour.
