Bloomsbury

I just saw the latest Sanderson collection is called Bloomsbury, after the the Bloomsbury creative movement of the 1930's which included the Omega Workshop - a hugely creative group of artists, poets and designers. In line with this movement, the Sanderson designers used oil paints, dry brushes and fresco techniques to bring their designs to life as evident in the collection. Here are some great images....love the styling as it really evokes the inspiration.

Artworks

I love this artwork by Fu Wong. Its ink and oil and I think the detail is amazing, the shadow like background makes this piece very interersting and the detail on the clothing is fabulous.

Born in China in 1946 and graduating from the China Arts & Crafts Academy, Beijing, Fu arrived in Australia in 1990, and gained a reputation for his original synthesis of representational painting with “impressionist” and “expressionist” leanings. His impressive achievements include: finalist 2008 Archibald Prize; winner Best Portrait 2006 Lexus Mortimore Prize; 2006 Archibald Prize Salon des Refuses; and winner of the 2002 Shirley Hannan National Portrait Award.

Current exhibition of this and other works here

Oceanview

This is another great interior by Canadian designer Sarah Richardson. The family room at the top in the classis blue and white looks great with the rustic pieces and I love the old hats on the wall. The green chaises in the reading room and the curtains in the dining room are also a great complement, creating a restful interior.

At the Kitchen sink

Working on the design of a classic style kitchen and these images all caught my for different reasons.

Love the colour of the cabinetry - soft grey

Its the gorgeous soft celedon green tiles that I like in this image and the dark chocolate floors.

Clients like the idea of subway tiles and this one captures that aspect.

Classic white cabinetry teamed with a charcoal countertop. The coloured ceiling is also interesting in this kitchen. Always lots to inspire and consider....
